Under the patronage of the Governor of Tulkarm Major General Issam Abu Bakr,An-Najah National University and the Palestinian Vet. Syndicate organized a workshop titled: "The Impact of Antibiotic Use on Human and Animal Health".

The workshop was part of the "Developing Equitable Agricultural Production and Market Systems for Resilient Economic Development in the occupied Palestinian Territory" project funded by theSwedish International Development Cooperation Agency and the "Beyond the barriers: Promotion of a gender sensitive and sustainable rural development to ensure the food security and resilience of vulnerable communities of the West Bank" project Funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. 

The workshop is the first of its kind in Palestine and aimed at raising awareness about the danger of veterinary drugs on livestock and human health.

The event was attended by Dr. Heba Al-Fares, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and the Head of Palestinian Vet. Syndicate Dr. Bilal Abu Hilal as well as partners representatives and a number of veterinarians.
