The Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at An-Najah University in collaboration with the Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie and Agricultural Development Association (PARC) organized a workshop titled: "Compost: Importance and Benefits".

The workshop was part of Greening the Palestinian Economy (GPE) project, funded by the EU and AIDOS and took place at Kadoorie Campus in Tulkarm.

Dr. Heba Al-Fares, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture emphasized the importance of Organic Agriculture and the necessity to create partnership with local agricultural institutions as it will contribute to spreading awareness about Organic Agriculture.

Dr. Al-Fares also gave a lecture titled: "The Importance of Biofertilizers in Agriculture" where she revealed the results of a number of applied research studies on economic plants that have been treated using biofertilizers. She made an overview of the importance and role of biofertilizers in increasing agricultural production compared to chemical fertilizers.
