As part of the activities of the “Green Jobs and Sustainable Income Opportunities for Palestinian Youth in the Agriculture and Food Sector” project, funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) with support from the Government of Denmark and in partnership with Palestinian universities, an introductory session was held on Thursday, 16 March 2023, to guide students participating in the project on how to apply for green entrepreneurial projects. The event was jointly organized by An-Najah National University and Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie


The session was attended by Dr. Khawla Najoum, FAO representative and Project Director, Dr. Hiba Al-Fares, Dean of the Faculty and Project Coordinator, as well as trainers and representatives including Dr. Tawfiq Al-Qubaj (An-Najah University), Mr. Amjad Al-Masri, Director of the Center for Educational Technology and Innovation, Dr. Yehya Stitiya, Project Coordinator at Palestine Technical University, and Dr. Mahmoud Raheel, one of the project’s trainers. The event took place at Palestine Technical University.

The project aims to build students’ practical skills and promote social and economic stability among Palestinian youth by facilitating access to green job opportunities and integrating them into companies and institutions working in the agriculture and food sectors.

During the session, Dr. Najoum presented an overview of the project, outlining the conditions and criteria for green entrepreneurial projects, the application process for funding grants, and how to complete the application forms. The session concluded with an open discussion to address trainees’ questions and inquiries.
