A delegation from An-Najah National University participated from May 7 to 11, 2024, in the launch of the capacity-building project in plant breeding and biotechnology through the BREEDTECH partnership program in Nakuru, Kenya.


The delegation included Prof. Munqez Shtaya, the project coordinator, as well as Dr. Tawfiq Al-Qubaj, head of the Department of Plant Production at the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine and a member of the project team.

The BREEDTECH project aims to develop a number of courses related to plant breeding and biotechnology, in addition to building the capacities of faculty members and graduate students in the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in relevant research and teaching fields. The project also aims to equip the college's laboratories with a number of devices related to the project's activities.

The project team extends its thanks to the administration of An-Najah National University, represented by its President, Professor Dr. Abdul Nasir Zaid, its Academic Vice President, Dr. Abdul Salam Al-Khayat, and the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, for facilitating participation in the meeting. Their continuous support demonstrates the university's commitment to enhancing scientific research and developing higher education.
